What pXs offers

preventionXpress (pXs) works with corporate and government employers to improve the health and wellbeing of their employees through the provision of convenient and confidential preventative health screens. The screens have been developed to rapidly assess high volumes of employees, with each health check taking approximately 10 minutes with professional feedback and advice provided immediately, based on an individual's results.

The management and board of pXs has significant experience across a range of industry sectors. The business is part of the Convenience Group and draws on more than 25 years experience providing international, bilateral and national population health prevention information and education solutions.

pXs screens for the following health issues:

  • Alcohol-related harm
  • Breast cancer awareness prompt (women only)
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Chronic lung disease
  • Diabetes type 2
  • Overweight and obesity
  • Prostate cancer risk and awareness (men only)
  • Psychological distress and depression
  • Sleep disorders and fatigue
  • Tobacco-related harm

How pXs screens

The pXs health check involves two steps:

  • Firstly, a nurse records key measurements including height, weight, blood pressure and a prick test for diabetes; and
  • Secondly, a screen-based questionnaire screens for diabetes type 2, cardiovascular disease, mental health, obstructive sleep apnoea, sleepiness and fatigue, tobacco-related harm, alcohol-related harm and a preventative health check prompt for prostate or breast cancer (depending on gender).

The questionnaire can be delivered to participants via a proprietary application on an iPad, a desktop computer or our purpose built kiosks. Screening can take place in the office, the canteen or out in the field. The location, setting and timing will be dependent upon the workforce, workplace conditions and availability.

At the completion of the screen, the participant receives a brief report of their results with colour-coded signals:

  • Green - indicates a good result which is backed up by some targeted health prevention information;
  • Amber - suggests that the client may need to consult a doctor; and
  • Red - alerts the client to take action and contact a doctor.

pXs also provides the employer with a detailed report which analyses the de-identified data from the workplace screens and compares their workforce against national statistics. Organisations use these results to implement targeted health programs for their employees, and as a benchmark to measure progress on an annual basis.

Commitment to Confidentiality

The need for confidentiality around health checks, medical records, and related activities are of particular concern to clients and individuals. In accordance with the Commonwealth Privacy Act, pXs ensures that all records, other than the aggregated data, remain with the individual only. No person-specific records in any form are left with any other party. The aggregated data is submitted to clients as a report in commercial confidence.
